About Moosh Mallows

I’ve been asked quite a lot recently, “why marshmallows?“

I’ve always experimented in the kitchen. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not so much. But it is definitely the place I find calm, relax and just take some time for me. So when I lost my job during of the pandemic, I retreated to the kitchen and after making all my usual bakes, I decided to make a batch of marshmallows and wondered if I could use up some blackcurrants we had in the freezer to make something a little different. Well that ended up being a very sticky but very tasty little experiment and after a few more batches and some research I took the plunge and launched Moosh Mallows.

I had to lean on a few friends along the way though! I am from a marketing background with graphic design experience and I LOVE branding. So when I embarked on this venture I knew I wanted to create a brand, not just a product but could I think of a name? I had to have a name!! Absolutely nothing was coming to me. Enter Kate! She is the brilliant friend who came up with the name “Moosh” and that was it! I couldn’t see it as anything else. Moosh Mallows was born! Next, Lilliam, my logo whizz. I used to work for her and she taught me everything I know when it comes to graphic design but I just couldn’t design my own logo. She delivered the goods from a very flaky brief and all of a sudden, it came to life! What talented friends I have!! Not to mention all my tasters, thank you for your service. And of course, my family (husband, sisters and parents) who put up with my endless questions, bouncing of ideas and flapping!

Moosh Mallows turned 1 last week and I am so proud of how far it has come. With two small people in tow, a house move and a pandemic, I think we’ve done ok.
